Jim Watt, MBE
Joe's show on the 14th May 2007 was attended by Jim Watt MBE - arguably one of Scotland's greatest boxers! Jim joined Joe
and friends at Cleethorpes' Beachcomber club for another completely sold out night of boxing.
We'd like to thank Jim for entertaining the guests at the Beachcomber, and all the boxing fans who were there
give there sincere regards for making it a night to remember.
- 1968 - Won ABA Lightweight Title
- 1976 - Won British Lightweight Title
- 1977 - Won Lonsdale Belt outright
- 1977 - Won European Lightweight title and made 4 successful defences
- 1981 - Awarded MBE
Jim Watt became world champion in the lightweight division when Roberto Duran left the title vacant in 1979 and
the WBC had him fight Alfredo Pitalua. He now covers boxing for
Sky Sports.
Joe would also like to personally thank the new Management at the Beachcomber for their knockout service.
Justin Sane
Comedian Justin Sane was also on hand to entertain the crowd with his brand of humour, and went down very well with the guests.
11th December 2006 - Amir Khan
British Boxing's latest sensation and Olympic Silver Medal winner Amir Khan was the special guest
for the 2006 Christmas show! The evening was enjoyed by all, with four fights, Comedian and a three
course meal, all included in the ticket price.
