Welcome to the Joe Frater Boxing
Promoter official website.
Here at Joe Frater, we have been holding boxing events now for many years and are now well established in the
community for holding professional events and shows that are sure to please everyone.
We always ensure that every event held is pleasing to all, from the boxers, their agents and of course our
customers. We invite the biggest names in British Boxing to attend our Boxing Shows.
Lynn Frater
During an accident at their home, Joe's wife, Lynn, suffered severe burns and was taken to
hospital. She was moved to the Pinderfields Burns Unit in Wakefield.
While Lynn is recovering, Joe was impressed with the service and dedication of staff at Pinderfields
and has organised a series of auctions at his next show. Former and current boxers
Steve Collins,
Richie Woodhall,
Amir Khan,
Ricky Hatton,
Earnie Shavers and
Joe Calzaghe,
as well as the Midland Area Boxing Council, have all donated boxing memorabilia
to be auctioned at the December 8th show to raise funds for the Pinderfields Burns Unit.
"The staff there give 110%" said Joe. "I asked if there was anything I could do for the Burns Unit
and it was mentioned that they could really do with replacing the patients' TV sets, as the current ones
are very old."
Boxing fans are welcome to place bids or make other donations in the run up to the show -
feel free to call Joe on Grimsby 01472 343194 for further information.
If you would like to make a donation, please make cheques payable to:
The Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust Charitable Foundation
Please include a covering letter to say that you would like your donation to be spent in the
Specialist Burns Unit, then either drop it in at Joe's garage in Legsby Avenue, or send it to:
Pinderfields Burns Centre
Pinderfields General Hospital
Aberford Road
Wakefield
WF1 4DG
Joe would like to thank all of the staff for their help, and we all wish Lynn a speedy recovery.
